The awarding ceremony of the National-level Vocational Training Base for the Disabled was held on March 1stin QNU. Among those present were QNU Party Secretary Zhu Shize, the President Qu Guangqing, and other leaders from related departments of Disabled Persons' Federation (DPF).
At the ceremony, Shao Xu, the Party Secretary and President of the provincial Disabled Persons' Federation, said that the School of Educational Science of QNU had always been keen on helping the disabled. With its special educational resources and expertise, the school had contributed a lot to the cause of disabled persons. He hoped that the school would take this awarding as a new beginning to forge a demonstration base for the nationwide vocational training base for the disabled.
QNU Party Secretary Zhu Shize saidthe university, with the support and instructions from the national, provincial and municipal DPFs, would take this opportunity to invest more into the construction of the special education major and try to build a national-level Virtual Simulation teaching center. The university would focus on the disabled persons' employment and service, and carry out a series of work including the disabled persons' training, consultation, research, and talent cultivation to promote the development of the disabled persons' cause and make new contribution to the national goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects.
Huang Guanhua, the vice president of the provincial DPF, read out China DPF's statement of settling the third group of national-level vocational training bases for the disabled. The provincial DPF president Shao Xu awarded the license and QNU President Qu Guangqing accepted it.
