From August 20 to 21, the 25th China Robot & Artificial Intelligence Contest (CRAIC) National Finals were held in Mianyang, Sichuan Province. QNU students majoring in automotive service engineering from the School of Transportation and Navigation achieved third place in the national competition for the “Apollo Starfire Autonomous Driving Competition” in the Autonomous Driving Simulation category. This marks the inaugural participation of a team from QNU in this competition. (Team members: Zou Chenfenglin, Chen Hualiang, Ren Haojie & Instructor: Dai Wenpan).
This competition attracted over 807 teams from more than 260 universities in China. The competition spanned over 120 days, starting with registration, progressing through provincial preliminary rounds, and culminating in the national finals. 150 advanced to the final stage out of the initial pool of teams. On July 20, QNU team achieved excellent results in the Fujian Provincial Preliminaries, securing one second-place award, one third-place award, and one excellence award.
